Please use this form to send emails to your state representatives advocating for HIT funding in the New York State Budget.
When you input your information into the form and click 'Find Representatives', it will automatically locate and inform you of your state senator and assembly member.

Subject: Request to Fund High-Impact Tutoring
I am writing to ask you to support Assembly Bill 2625 / Senate Bill 1820, an act to establish and fund a High-Impact Tutoring (HIT) grant program. To fully realize the vision of this bill, I respectfully urge the Legislature to build upon the Governor’s Executive Budget proposal by allocating a total of $10 million for High-Impact Tutoring in the FY27 budget.
HIT is a proven, research-backed intervention that helps students close academic achievement gaps, improve attendance, and increase overall student well-being. The focus on HIT comes at a time when New York students are in need of increased support with the 2024 National Assessment of Educational Progress scores showing that students, particularly Black and Latinx students, remain below pre-pandemic levels in critical math and reading benchmarks. Research consistently shows that High-Impact Tutoring, defined as tutoring provided in small groups (ratios of 1:4 or less), at least three times per week, by consistent, trained tutors, is one of the most effective interventions for recovering lost learning.
Investing state funding in HIT would allow more students to access this vital resource. I ask that you invest in our students’ potential, and give New York students, regardless of economic or social challenges, the opportunity to achieve academic success.
